"Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity."

– Hippocrates

Hello, I’m Seung-Wan Choi (she/her)

I’m a second generation Korean-American from LA. I’m an Associate Marriage and Family therapist at Echo Park Creative Psychology working with individual adults and couples in California.

I believe therapy is not one size fits all, nor that healing has a predetermined path. I take a collaborative approach with my clients and highly value curiosity, consent, transparency and cultural humility. I help clients explore patterns in their life they'd like to change and what kind of life they envision for themselves.

My areas of focus include working with anxiety, depression and major life changes. My clinical work also includes working with people in the entertainment industry and helping professions.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.

Please note, currently, I conduct therapy in English only and my sliding scale waitlist is full.

My approach is queer affirming, trauma informed and social justice oriented. I often bring in socioeconomic, racial, cultural and systemic issues and their effects on clients. I work with a wide range of people. One of my areas of focus are working with people of color, those who are part of cultural and ethnic diasporas, and those who have experiences with immigration. I help clients explore intergenerational experiences and cultural beliefs, and how they affect clients’ relationships and life.
